Jason Alejandro is a Puerto Rican graphic designer and educator based between New York City and Philadelphia. He is currently Associate Professor of Graphic Design at the College of New Jersey. Jason’s work examines, addresses, and questions aspects of cultural identity, design history, professional practice, and critical pedagogy through research, making, and writing.

Oklahoma State University

I was invited by Oklahoma State University’s Department of Art in Spring 2024 to give a public lecture and serve as a juror for their undergraduate senior exhibition. During the visit, I evaluated student work and met with students and faculty in both the BFA program and MFA program. My talk presented graphic design as a mode of inquiry into cultural identity as opposed to its role in service of industry.
