Jason Alejandro is a Puerto Rican graphic designer and educator based between New York City and Philadelphia. He is currently Associate Professor of Graphic Design at the College of New Jersey. Jason’s work examines, addresses, and questions aspects of cultural identity, design history, professional practice, and critical pedagogy through research, making, and writing.

Thinking Through Graphic Design History by Aggie Toppins

Almanaque, a collaborative research publication—by Laura Rossi Garcia and myself—about visual culture and design history in Puerto Rico was included in a graphic design history textbook titled Thinking Through Graphic Design History: Challenging the Canon by Aggie Toppins published by Bloomsbury. Our work appears as a case study in Chapter 10: Broadening the Canon.
